Overview

T he Smithsonian American Art Museum, the nation’s first collector of American Art, is an unparalleled capture of the aspirations, character, and imagination of the American people throughout 3 centuries. The five pieces on show from Galmer’s "Lemon Set" reflect a modern take on the silver-making art of repoussé, an American tradition dating back to early 19th century.
